Raco Verd Price: Menu: Spanish-Mexican You can’t miss Raco Verd when you drive through the high street of Sant Josep. A corner building, diagonally opposite the church, with a nice terrace under a large olive tree and an even nicer inside terrace with a beautiful trompe l’oeil mural, and live music in the evenings. Raco Verd is open from 10 in the morning until 3 am. The kitchen takes last orders around midnight. Dishes are inspired by Mexican cuisine, but they also offer classic Spanish tapas. The local produce is organic, including the wine and the beer. The owners are an English/Scottish couple called Clare and Samuel. Why the Mexican influences? They first met in New York in a Mexican restaurant and are both lovers of the purity and taste of Mexican food. Our breakfast was extremely fresh and healthy: the “Breakfast Bowl” with Greek yogurt with summer fruits, nuts, seeds and raisins, and the “Detox Juice” with melon, lime, celery and mint. But for the hungry breakfast customer the “Huevos a la Mexicana” (scrambled eggs with chilli and home-made guacamole) will surely be of interest.
